On The Segway

One of my instant favorite.

I opted for f8 for the whole ride. The light allowed me to maintain a high shutter speed. The combination enabled me to freeze motions, minimise camera shakes and relax focusing requirements through a larger DOF.

Coffee Hollic

Colorful decorations, tasteful drinks, becomes my local favorate immediately. Highly recommended.

The camera is capturing a lot of details - I see vivid colors, and genuine textures on the wood frames on the camera file.  It works wonders.

Sweet Airport indeed!

I met this group at the Seoul airport. They indeed made the place lively and sweet for the travelers.

Wings!

I spotted this colorful shot when I was striding on the beach. Rarely do I see kids sitting in line properly, until I realised they were enjoying their chicken wings after a probably long day of plays. Five kids, all in colorful outfits, similar ages and gestures. A great coincidence and the picture instantly become one of my favorites.

Sunday Evening near a Church

Try the blue and orange color combination next time! It worked perfectly for me.

Point of view

Where do you put your camera?

Your point of view is an important part of your design and the feeling of the picture.  This is especially true when photographing subjects below the eye level.  I have seen too many pictures of kids taken from a top-down perspective.  While this is true for most adults as a documentary one, the view is less of spectacular and more of a boring feeling.

Curious

She approached me herself alone without hesitation. She was playing with her little plastic container, and she grew interested in what I was doing with my camera. I was fixing my straps, sitting on a bench inside a shopping mall.

This was my first shot, full auto, with a wrong manual white balance. I had to redevelop it from the raw file. The output compares favorably to the picture I took earlier at the same ISO. See for yourself.

Loved this candid portrait.

Where are you...?

Waiting for you

Canon 5D 50mm f2 1/3200 ISO400

The moment and her expression was extraordinary. For such a long subject distance, the large aperture still separated her well from the background, and enhanced the mood I was portraying.

Mother and Daughter

I just love the feeling in the interaction between her, the kid and the flowing tap.  There's something personal in this picture for me, especially for the upcoming Mother's day.
