The 50mm again proved to be a great environmental portrait lens. The autumn sun provided a natural rim light, while the reflections from the gravel filled the subjects nicely.
This could have been better if I have closed down the lens slightly to make Tom's eyes in focus. A recent pocket camera with face detection systems would have done this automatically.
