I made a post on a board discussing tripod maintenance earlier. Specifically I was asking if anyone knows how to smoothen the knobs of a tripod after use and cleaning. To my disappointment I am not sure if half of the ten respondents or so uses tripods. A few lessons here: always take Internet advices with a grain of salt, and consider buying tripods as Christmas gifts for friends who are new to photography.
